Who

Spirit Midwest Ministries is a faith-based, non-profit 501c(3) organization.

Our desire is to unite people across denominational, social, economical and generational lines to take the Good News of the Gospel to our neighbors, our community and the nations.

We minister through the festival, periodic concerts and events, local outreaches, student ministries and short-term mission trips by partnering with individuals, churches, businesses and other ministries.

We believe that everything should be done with excellence for the Lord, therefore in each of the branches of our ministry, we strive to provide a top quality event that glorifies the Lord with His message.

What

We take the Good News of the Gospel of Christ into the streets to proclaim freedom in Christ to all who will hear the Message. Spirit Midwest Ministries strives to reach the poor (in Spirit), the prisoners (of the prince of this world), the blind (to the ways of the Lord), and the oppressed (by darkness) and to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor through a variety of contemporary Christian media and events.

How

Spirit Midwest was birthed in 2006, when a simple “concert in the park” with a local band exploded into an eight-band festival with inflatable games, food vendors, merchandise and more! While no one knew exactly what God was doing as the events unfolded, His hand was apparent and Spirit Midwest was born.

In just over two years, Spirit Midwest Ministries has grown to much more than just a festival. Through partnerships with local and international ministries, as well as numerous businesses, churches and individuals, we are taking the Good News into the streets of Metro Des Moines and the world. Spirit Midwest Ministries strives to preach this Good News to families everywhere - proclaiming freedom to all who hear the message of the Lord. Whether it be through the music, games, speakers, street teams, soup kitchens, housing projects or missions trips, Spirit Midwest Ministries is proclaiming the year of the Lord’s favor for all who will hear.

Why

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.” - Luke 4:18-19
