The coffee was fantastic as people crowded the ConnXions Event Center to enjoy the three bands featured at our Benefit Concert last weekend. We had an awesome time and truly enjoyed the opportunity to share our vision for our short-term mission trips to Tijuana, Mexico along with the overall mission of Spirit Midwest. We were richly blessed by the generosity of the attendees - both in monetary donations and encouragement. It was great to get to know some of our friends a little better and to meet new ones!
Keep an eye on our event calendar as we continue to add events at ConnXions. It was a great venue, the hospitality was phenomenal and the people loved the location so we're planning to start holding events there every other month or so.Our next one will be the Five-4-$5 Concert on January 23. Watch our website for details!
We are so excited about the Spirit Midwest Benefit Concert tonight! With three awesome bands ranging from acoustic guitar and vocals to full classic rock, it's going to be a blast! Andy Klindt's spirit of worship shines through, whether he's singing solo with his acoustic guitar, duet with his wife, or in a band with beat box or drums - his heart for God shines through. Then Remnant brings its special brand of "redeemed blues" - where God is glorified and the blues don't bring you down! Finally, we'll end the night with The Bruce Gregory Band, whose power rock and gut wrenching harmonies are unsurpassed. It's going to be a fantastic night!
Of course, as a Benefit Concert, we'll also have information about our upcoming mission trip to Tijuana, Mexico - which still has a few openings available for new team members who might want to sign up! This awesome opportunity will not only bless the orphans, impoverished and oppressed of Tijuana, but also each team member as God deepens their faith and strengthens their spirit.
Join us as we celebrate His gift tonight - and in Tijuana! God bless!
I'm excited to be feeling better as we come into the weekend. I've been down with the flu for a few days and really need a relaxing weekend of fun with friends to get revitalized! Friday night with Jammin' Java at Cafe Diem will be no disappointment. Michael Reed's Foot Song is absolutely hysterical and sure to put that smile back on my face. With his high energy and fun lyrics, I'm sure we'll all be enjoying the evening.
Then Saturday, I'll join the band as Tim Cooper & Friends brings its own special blend of rock and acoustic worship to Cafe Diem. It never ceases to amaze me when the crowd joins in with the beautiful melodies and unique rhythms. Young and old alike enjoy the lead guitar, rich harmonies and powerful lyrics of Tim's music, while we, as a band, bask in the Word contained therein.
I hope you can come out and join us:
