Outreach

Spirit Midwest is passionate in its efforts to share the Gospel of Christ - that’s what we’re all about. Therefore, a natural expansion of our ministry has been to facilitate the sending of short-term missions teams in serving the orphaned, impoverished and oppressed of Tijuana, Mexico. Our teams work with local churches and individuals as they proclaim freedom through Christ while meeting the physical & spiritual needs of the people they serve through street evangelism, building projects, orphanages and home visits. (Click on the Missions tab to learn more about our mission trips.)

In sending these teams, our goal is not only to share the Gospel with the people of Tijuana, but also to ignite a passion in the hearts of those who minister . . . a passion to witness, to evangelize and to disciple. Without that passion, the directive to “go and make disciples” is often overlooked and forgotten. We want to awaken that passion and ignite that fire so people will burn with a hunger to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ - not just in Tijuana, but also at home.

Iowa has been recognized as the meth capital of the world. With at least thirty known gangs in the metro area and over 5,100 homeless adults and children, there are many needs to be met right here at home. Spirit Midwest desires to meet these needs while sharing the Gospel of Christ, thereby offering the empowerment that comes through a deep and intimate understanding of the life-changing message of the Gospel. This equips the people to whom we minister to break free of the bondages in their lives and walk fulfilled and productive in Christ as they go on to share this message with others.

Spirit Midwest Ministries has partnered with several local organizations to provide opportunities for outreach to our Local Outreach Team. Click on the Opportunities tab to find out more!
